The story
Pipe smokers need a flame that can be pointed down into the bowl. Nimrod's Pipeliter does it with a side opening in a hexagonal collar, and the body is wrapped in brown crocodile-grain leather for the hand.
The base is stamped “Nimrod Pipeliter, Made in USA, Pat. 2432265”.
